Physical Therapy

Sometimes pain treatment can be accomplished through physical therapy. Physical therapy (PT) involves the treatment, healing, and prevention of injuries or disabilities. PT helps to relieve pain, promote healing, and restore function and movement. Click on one of the links below to see the resources we have compiled for you. Information courtesy of WebMD.

Physical Therapy for Back Pain

A typical response to experiencing back pain is to take it easy – either staying in bed or at least stopping any activity that is at all strenuous. While this approach is understandable and may even be recommended in the short term, when done for more than a day or two it can actually undermine healing. Instead, active forms of back exercises are almost always necessary to rehabilitate the spine and help alleviate back pain. Information courtesy of Spine-Health.

Physical Therapy for Shoulder Pain

Many muscles surround your shoulder and lower back. When all of these muscles are working together well, they serve to stabilize your shoulder joint. When your shoulder is stabilized, there is less strain on your shoulder joint and muscles when you are active. Information courtesy of Medline Plus.
